When a Parent First Discovers Their Child has a Hearing Loss… A Story of Hope from JTC

2015 End of Year Appeal Letter

When parents first learn that their infant has a permanent hearing loss, the news can be shocking, overwhelming and emotionally devastating. Almost every day, we see parents arrive at JTC for the first time, sharing similar feelings.

JTC’s Parent-Infant Program is the first step in a parent’s journey of preparing their deaf children for a successful transition into mainstream school where they can thrive in a hearing environment filled with talking, laughter and listening opportunities. The goal of the Parent-Infant Program is to nurture listening and language development in young children with hearing loss.

Yet, our Parent-Infant Program is just one of the life changing programs at JTC that gives parents the hope, guidance and encouragement to help their young children impacted by hearing loss during their most critical developmental stages of life.

During this season of giving, we hope you will consider increasing your support of John Tracy Clinic, so that we may help more children like Everly and Elias to develop the communication skills they need to realize their future dreams in the hearing world! Every gift makes a difference.

All of us at JTC wish you and your family the happiest of Holiday Seasons and a New Year filled with good health and happiness!
