Program:
The hybrid Master’s and Education Specialist Program in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) at Mount Saint Mary's University is founded on five principles: Passion, Excellence, Advocacy, Respect, and Leadership (PEARL). These foundational principles make for a career choice that is IMPACTFUL. Our grads have become published authors, state coordinators, program directors, and teacher-leaders in the field.
Philosophy of the program:
The program focuses on the use of state-of-the-art hearing technology that allows children who are deaf or hard of hearing to develop listening and spoken language. Principles in family-centered support and interdisciplinary practice are emphasized throughout the program.
Offerings:
- Master of Science (MS) in Deaf Education
- Preliminary Specialist Credential: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- 8-semester program (3 years) with synchronous, online courses available after 3:30 pm.
Financial Aid:
- State and Federal Grants cover more than half the tuition
