Educational Audiology Services

John Tracy Center (JTC) is home to a specialized Educational Audiology Department within our comprehensive Audiology Division. Educational Audiology is a distinct subspecialty that focuses on how students with hearing loss access sound, speech, and instruction in real-world school environments. While clinical audiologists evaluate hearing and fit hearing devices, Educational Audiologists extend this work into the educational setting—ensuring that hearing technology functions effectively in the classroom and that students can fully access spoken instruction.

Through partnerships and contracts with school districts, JTC’s Educational Audiologists collaborate with district teams to provide functional listening assessments, hearing assistive technologies (HAT) recommendations, classroom observations, device troubleshooting, school staff training, and family support. Our goal is to bridge the gap between clinical audiology, classroom learning, and individualized educational planning so students with hearing loss can thrive academically, socially, and communicatively.
